then specialized at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome with Renata Scotto, Anna Vandi and Cesare
He soon started an intense concert and operatic activity, that led him to sing in the main italian and
European theatres, such as Teatro dell’Opera and Accademia di S.Cecilia in Rome, Maggio Musicale
Fiorentino, Carlo Felice in Genova, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.
Starting from 2013 he made his debut in Anna Bolena as Enrico VIII, under the baton of Fabio Biondi at
Reate Festival, then he was Sarastro in Magic Flute, Sparafucile in Rigoletto in Clermont-Ferrand, where
he also performed as Don Basilio in Barbiere di Siviglia in 2017, then he sang this role in several
reprises, in Vichy and other theatres in tour in France. Later on he sang as Commendatore in Don
Giovanni in Treviso and Ferrara, he was Angelotti in Tosca in Toulon, where he also performed as Sam
in Ballo in maschera, Traviata and Rigoletto.
Most recent engagements are Così fan tutte (Don Alfonso) In Tirana National Theatre; Britten’s A
Midsummer Night’s dream (Theseus) in Cremona, Como, Pavia, Brescia and Reggio Emilia; Marco
Tutino’s Il gatto con gli stivali (Orco) at the Teatro Regio in Parma; Un Ballo in Maschera (Sam) in
Cagliari;Verdi’s Macbeth (1847 version) in Warsaw with Fabio Biondi (recorded for Glossa); Falstaff
(Pistola) at the Verdi Festival in Parma with Riccardo Frizza; Carmen (Zuniga) in Cremona, Brescia, Pavia
and Como; Bohème (Colline) in Lecce and Brindisi;
Salome, under the baton of Gianandrea Noseda, at Teatro Regio di Torino, where he also sang in
Rigoletto in 2019, and later on in Päer’s Agnese with Diego Fasolis.
In the last years Benetti approached the Baroque repertoire, making his debut at the Monteverdi
Festival in Cremona as Plutone in Orfeo, with Ottavio Dantone and Accademia Bizantina, and singing
again with him in Handel’s Rinaldo as Mago Cristiano, in Cremona and on tour in Italy.
In 2019 made his debut in Bach’s Johannes Passion in Rome and in tour in Italy.
His concert repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem and Coronation Mass, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and
Petite Messe Solennelle, Beethoven’s Simphony No. 9, Handel’s Messiah.
Emilia, Piacenza and Ravenna); Adriana Lecouvrer (Principe di Bouillon) at Teatro Carlo Felice in
